Backup your data

Why is it neccessary to back up the information on your PC, Laptop, Notepad?

The obvious answer is if you don't back up the data on your PC, Laptop, or Notepad, you stand to lose it.

"So what?" you may ask. If you don't have anything worth saving then youre right, it doesn't matter. But, if you have anything of value to you like digital photographs, research, CVs, links to special websites, names, addresses, birthdays, telephone numbers of friends, colleagues, family, articles regarding your hobbies, important letters you have written, downloaded information, software, programs, or applications, etc. then it is a problem if you want it back. It will cost you money (R300 - R500 p.h.) for some expert to try and get the information off a crashed drive, if they can. More often than not, they are not able to. If you asked them to try, they charge you for trying whether they got anything back or not. It could cost you more than a new external drive if they spend more than 3 hours on restoring the data.

The best external drive is to get a 3.5 inch drive as they are more reliable than the smaller 2.5 inch drives. The best quality according to our sources (that work with it every day) is the Seagate product (IBM also use Seagate). Anything smaller than 1TB (Terrabyte) is not worth having.

Here is a link to buy an external drive online to make your backup process easy and effortless.

You can go driving around at your local PC shops to compare prices, but you may find that they do not have stock, the prices aren't competitive because they have to pay for premises, etc. and time costs money. If you have time, by all means, have fun. Or you can click on the image below to get the best option delivered to you. If the item is out of stock, please contact me here Wish to order Seagate 3Tb external Drive

There is much more to know about external drives. I have chosen the easiest to handle. They all use USB ports. Some External Dives need docking stations, or what is called "toasters" (because it looks like a toaster). Some docking stations can take 2.5", some 3.5" drives, and others can handle both.

Is the Web the best platform for your marketing?

Is the web working for you as Marketing Platform?

If the web isn't working as a Marketing Platform, there are a number of things you can do to improve this situation. If you haven't used the web as Marketing platform, then maybe it is time to start?

I suppose this begs the questions "Am I using the Internet to its full potential as a Marketing tool?" and "How do I use the web as Marketing platform without spending my days and nights online?" We will be discussing these questions and others in time to come.

How to make the web work for us as Marketing Platform

First of all you need a web presence, a website. If you don't have a website, but have been considering it, you may wish to have a look at what needs to be considered before getting a website. Your website needs to be visible and accessible. The better your page rank the more likely people are to get to your site. Otherwise your site is only an online business card. Nothing wrong with that. It is the first step.  A good way to improve your Google ranking is to have many links into your website from other appropriate sites. Appropriate sites are sites that have the same, similar, or related subjects, niches, topics, news, forums, conversations, directories, etc.

Here are some FREE Directories that you can add yourself to

Free Business Directory Listing
Free Coaches Directory
Free Health Practitioners, Therapists, Masseuse Directory Listing
Free Financial Services and Support Directory Listing
Free Green Directory Listing
Free Alternative Therapies and Esoterics Directory Listing
Free NGO Directory Listing

Then you need to be on Social Marketing sites and there are many. The most well-known ones are Twitter and Facebook, but there are other like LinkedIn, Myspace, and so on.

What form of Marketing works best?

Here is a questionnaire to answer the question "what marketing works best?"  You fill in the questionnaire and when we have enough information we will publish what works best for most people. Here is the link to the  what marketing works best questionnaire?

We will be adding more tips, tricks and traps on regular, if infrequent, basis.

How to improve your website Google rating

Want to know how to improve your Google ranking?

Having a website these days means almost nothing, unless you give people the name of your website address. They are unlikely to find it anywhere if they had to search for it. It is worse than trying to find something that you put in a box, in the bottom of a cupboard, in the attic (and you have forgotten where you put it).

If you don't have a website, I have put together an e-document that has all the most pertinent tips and considerations needed to make an informed decision about how to build a website, and what you need to know, do, and what you need to consider before you even go to someone to build one for you. I have burnt my fingers, thrown good money after bad, but learned a lot in the process, which I share with you here... What you need to know before you build a website....  It can save you a lot of money and headaches.

If you do have a website, you need to build as many links to your website as you can.  This is what is called link-love.

Create inbound links to your website

The way to improve the chances of being found is to have as many links to your website, from as many sources as possible; especially other websites that have to do with your subject and niche market.
