Backup your data

Why is it neccessary to back up the information on your PC, Laptop, Notepad?

The obvious answer is if you don't back up the data on your PC, Laptop, or Notepad, you stand to lose it.

"So what?" you may ask. If you don't have anything worth saving then youre right, it doesn't matter. But, if you have anything of value to you like digital photographs, research, CVs, links to special websites, names, addresses, birthdays, telephone numbers of friends, colleagues, family, articles regarding your hobbies, important letters you have written, downloaded information, software, programs, or applications, etc. then it is a problem if you want it back. It will cost you money (R300 - R500 p.h.) for some expert to try and get the information off a crashed drive, if they can. More often than not, they are not able to. If you asked them to try, they charge you for trying whether they got anything back or not. It could cost you more than a new external drive if they spend more than 3 hours on restoring the data.

The best external drive is to get a 3.5 inch drive as they are more reliable than the smaller 2.5 inch drives. The best quality according to our sources (that work with it every day) is the Seagate product (IBM also use Seagate). Anything smaller than 1TB (Terrabyte) is not worth having.

Here is a link to buy an external drive online to make your backup process easy and effortless.

You can go driving around at your local PC shops to compare prices, but you may find that they do not have stock, the prices aren't competitive because they have to pay for premises, etc. and time costs money. If you have time, by all means, have fun. Or you can click on the image below to get the best option delivered to you. There is much more to know about external drives. I have chosen the easiest to handle. They all use USB ports. Some External Dives need docking stations, or what is called "toasters" (because it looks like a toaster). Some docking stations can take 2.5", some 3.5" drives, and others can handle both.
